Information for the day
Please bring
- Safety pins [4 for each runner] to fasten your number to your shirt.
Diet
- Have a light breakfast but drink plenty so you are well hydrated.
Race Numbers
- All numbers are to be collected on the day.
- Your number will be at the Registration Desk on the Registration Field.
- See Registration acknowledgment email for more information.
- On the back of your number will state that you should not run if feeling unwell and at your discretion and responsibility
Arrival
- Please ensure you arrive at least 30 minutes before your start time.
- Start times are 09.30am for the 2k run and 10.15am for the 10k run.
Parking
There is parking in 3 locations:-
- By the Alton Water Cafe, off the approach road.
- The overspill to the Alton Water Sports Center.
- The car park near the entrance to Anglia Water.
- There will be marshals to help direct you.
Toilets
Toilet facilities are:-
- In the Alton Water Sports Centre,
- In the Information Centre,
- Limited portaloos on the Registration Field.
Terrain
This is a mixed terrain run so please note that some of the route is on uneven ground.

During the run
- There are water stations on the 10k course.
- If you fell unwell please stop.
- Tell a marshal if you can see one.
- If not, ask a runner to inform the next marshal on the circuit.
After the race
10k Runners
- Please ensure you cross the finishing line.

- T- shirts will be given to the first 100 finishers.
5K Runners
- Please ensure you cross the finish line
- (in order to receive your time)
- T-Shirts will be given to the first 50 finishers
2k Runners
- There will be a large clock on display.
- You need to time yourself.
- There are medals for all under 18yr olds who competed
Registration
This will all be done online prior to the day.
From 08.30am on the day there will be:
- A BBQ Breakfast,
- Coffee, tea, soup & cold drinks,
- Home Made Cake Stall
- CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT!

Refunds, Cancellations and Transfers
Refunds and Cancellations
If you change your mind or decide to cancel your place because of injury, illness, lack of training, weather or other reason then unfortunately the organisers of the Alton Water Run will not be able to refund your entry fee. In addition no refunds will be given if the race has to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organisers control.
Transfers
Entries to the Alton Water Run are personal to the applicant and race numbers must not be sold or transferred under any circumstances. Any runner who knowingly competes in another person's race number will be disqualified.
